Common Questions
Why is speech recognition unavailable for some languages?
Speech recognition depends on iOS device support, language availability, and Apple Speech services. Some languages may not be available on every device or iOS version.
Why is translation not working in the Simulator?
Apple Translation is not supported in the iOS Simulator. Please test translation on a real iPhone.
Does LingoScribe work offline?
Some features may require internet access. Offline behavior depends on the language, device support, and any local speech model setup.
How is my transcript history stored?
Recent transcripts are saved locally on your device. LingoScribe does not require an account to use transcript history.

LingoScribe respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how LingoScribe handles information when you use the app.
1. Information We Collect
LingoScribe does not require you to create an account and does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, contacts, location, or payment details.
The app may process the following information on your device:
– Spoken audio for speech transcription
– Transcribed text

– Transcript history saved locally on your device
– Selected source and target languages
2. Speech Recognition and Translation
LingoScribe uses iOS speech recognition and translation features where supported by the device and language.
When you use speech recognition or translation, audio or text may be processed by Apple system services depending on your device settings, iOS version, language support, and network availability. LingoScribe does not receive, store, or sell this information on an external server controlled by us.
3. Local Transcript History
LingoScribe may save recent transcripts locally on your device so you can view, copy, share, or replay them later.
This history stays on your device unless you choose to copy, share, or send it using another app.
You can delete transcript history from within the app where available, or remove all app data by deleting the app from your device.
4. Microphone Permission
LingoScribe requests microphone access only to record speech for transcription.
You can disable microphone access at any time in iOS Settings.
5. Local Speech Processing
For some languages or development setups, LingoScribe may support local speech processing through a user-controlled local speech service. If this feature is used, recorded audio may be sent to that local service for transcription.
LingoScribe does not operate a public speech recognition server and does not store those recordings.
6. Data Sharing
LingoScribe does not sell your data.
LingoScribe does not share your personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing platforms.
If you choose to share a transcript using iOS share features, the selected text may be sent to the app or service you choose.
7. Analytics and Tracking
LingoScribe does not use advertising tracking.
LingoScribe does not use third-party advertising SDKs.
8. Children’s Privacy
LingoScribe is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app does not require accounts or collect personal details, no child profile information is requested by the app.
9. Data Security
Transcript history is stored locally on your device. You are responsible for protecting access to your device using iOS security features such as passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.
