NTFS Explorer Pro
NTFS Explorer Pro is a premium, native system utility designed to give you seamless control over NTFS drives on macOS. Built from the ground up for modern Macs, it bridges the gap between Windows NTFS partitions and macOS, combining a powerful file browser with diagnostic, formatting, and deployment tools.
FEATURES:
- Premium File Explorer: Navigate NTFS directories natively. Create folders, rename directories, paste files from Finder, and drag-and-drop files directly in and out of the app interface.
- Disk Maintenance & Unlocker: Safely mount and write to NTFS partitions. Clear stale Windows hibernation flags (hiberfil.sys) and force unlock dirty partitions. Format external drives or perform a secure 1-pass zero-fill overwrite (Secure Wipe) to erase data safely.
- Advanced Diagnostics:
- Speed Test: Measure sequential and random read/write speeds, illustrated with real-time speedometer dials and active performance charts.
- S.M.A.R.T. Health Telemetry: Monitor temperatures, read error rates, and sector health to catch drive failures early.
- Space Analyzer: Scan directories and map storage distribution into a color-coded legend to isolate space-hogging folders.
- Backup & Deployment:
- Raw Disk Cloner: Backup target sectors into secure .dmg containers with SHA-256 integrity hashing.
- ISO Flasher (Rufus for Mac): Write Windows ISO installers directly to USB drives, complete with UEFI bootloaders.
- Fail-Safe Write Protection: Protect your hardware. The app monitors S.M.A.R.T attributes and automatically locks write privileges if it detects critical drive degradation, preventing potential data corruption.
Fully optimized for Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel Macs. Simple, secure, and powerful.
Privacy Policy for NTFS Explorer Pro
Last Updated: June 28, 2026
Sukhesh Chandra Sekharan (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy details how NTFS Explorer Pro handles user data.
1. Information Collection and Use
- Zero Data Collection: NTFS Explorer Pro does not collect, capture, store, transmit, or share any personal information, usage data, or telemetry.
- Offline Execution: The application runs entirely locally on your macOS device. It does not communicate with external servers, databases, or analytics engines.
- Local Configuration Storage: To remember your folder additions, deleted items, and authorized mount nodes, the application creates a configuration file (
virtual_fs.json) in your user system’s standard sandboxed application storage folder. This file remains strictly on your local device and is never uploaded or transmitted.
2. Device Access & Permissions
The application requests file system access to parse partition details and display disk telemetry (such as size, system format, and files). These permissions are used exclusively to render files in the file explorer and perform diagnostics (such as speed tests and space analysis) on the local disk.
3. Children’s Privacy
Because we collect no personal data, our app does not collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
4. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with the updated date.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Why does my NTFS drive show as Read-Only?
By default, macOS mounts all NTFS formatted drives in Read-Only mode due to kernel-level operating system restrictions.
- Sandboxed Virtual Mode: Inside the app, you can seamlessly create folders and copy files. These changes are saved in the app’s persistent cache.
- Enable Physical Writes: To write files physically to the drive from macOS so they show up on Windows, you must mount the drive with user-space write capabilities using a FUSE driver (like MacFUSE + NTFS-3G).
2. What systems are supported?
NTFS Explorer Pro is compiled as a Universal Binary and is fully compatible with both Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) and Intel Macs running macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or newer.
