How does the shrine progression and unlock logic work?
PathLore follows a sequential mastery structure. Completing an Apprentice shrine unlocks the Journeyman difficulty; conquering Journeyman reveals the Master challenge. Earning Cartographer Seals unlocks the next realm and its unique puzzle discipline.
Does my puzzle progress sync between my iPhone, iPad, and Mac?
Yes. As long as your devices are signed into the same Apple ID with iCloud enabled, your unlocked shrines, completion stars, and active puzzle states automatically sync via private Apple CloudKit in the background.
Can I play PathLore completely offline?
Yes! PathLore works 100% offline. You can solve shrines on airplanes or commutes without any internet connection. Any offline progress will automatically synchronize to iCloud the next time your device reconnects.
Which Apple Pencil gestures and features are supported?
On supported iPad models, double-tap switches between the active tool and eraser. On Apple Pencil Pro, squeeze gestures trigger the quick tool selector, and barrel roll lets you orient candidate markings naturally.
How do I reset my puzzle or clear annotations?
Each puzzle screen includes an undo/redo history button as well as a ‘Clear’ and ‘Restart’ option in the top action bar to reset the board cleanly.

1. Core Privacy Philosophy
PathLore was built with privacy as a fundamental cornerstone. We believe your logic journey and personal data belong strictly to you. The app does not collect, track, sell, or monetize any personal information under any circumstances.
2. Information Collection & Use
Zero Account Registration: You do not need to create an account, register an email address, or provide any personal details to use PathLore.
Zero Third-Party Trackers: PathLore contains no analytics SDKs (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Meta Pixel), no advertising frameworks, and no behavioral tracking mechanisms.
3. Data Storage & iCloud Synchronization
Local Device Storage: Your puzzle states, completion times, and settings are saved locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework.
Private iCloud Sync: When iCloud is enabled, your progress synchronizes across your Apple devices using Apple CloudKit. This data is encrypted in transit and stored inside your private personal iCloud container. We cannot access, view, or transfer this data.
4. Apple Game Center
If you choose to use Apple Game Center for leaderboards and achievements, your scores are handled directly by Apple in accordance with Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not store or process your Game Center credentials or social data on any external servers.
5. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & GDPR)
PathLore does not collect any personal data from anyone, including children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). It is completely safe for audiences of all ages.
6. Data Deletion & Control
You can reset all puzzle progress and local data at any time from within the app settings, or by deleting the app and clearing PathLore data from your iCloud account.
